Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991, and professionally referred to as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Her debut EP Pho on October 21, 2016 was released by Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in notoriety. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox posted her debut tracks online in 2012. She dropped Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw her release further music online including Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes which was released at Sweat It out on July 21, 2015. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's music references. Then, later in the period, she released music that was circulating around Dreamville. The official signing ceremony was held to Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat, a track she recorded along with Cozz to record her Revenge of the Dreamers II album that they co-produced. In October 21, 2016, she debuted her first EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening artist on behalf of J. Cole on his song Change in the year 2017 and did a performance on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she was featured in two tracks, including EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas' Icarus. On July 16, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on the 5th of September. On the 9th of November she released two other singles, 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November, 13, she released two additional singles, titled No One as well as Pdigree. She performed with Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On the 16th of November, and made the track available as a single by herself for her first album. In February of 2019 the music video was released to accompany the track. It already has over three million hits on YouTube during its initial week. In December of 2018, she was performing as a support act on her From East Atlanta With Love Tour along with 6LACK.
